Finish the Storyline

One story, written by everyone in the room.

Everyone writes a line, then passes on just the words that start the next one. Nobody sees the whole story until you read it aloud together at the end. It is never the story anyone expected.

Writing your line

Everything it needs.
Nothing it doesn't.

The old paper game, on the phones already in the room: everyone writes at once, and the ending is read aloud together.

Everyone at once

Everyone writes every round

No turns and no waiting. Every phone in the room writes at the same time.

Writing your line
The hand-off

Hand on a few words, not the line

You finish your line, then write two to five words to begin the next one. Only those words travel.

The ending is read aloud, together

Nobody sees the whole story until the end, when one person reads each one out to the room.

Questions

Do we need internet to play?

No. The phones connect directly to each other over your local wifi, so the game works on a plane or anywhere with no signal.

How many people can play?

Two to twelve, each on their own phone. One phone hosts and the others join by scanning a QR code.

Is it free?

Yes. The full game is free. One optional purchase unlocks extra visual themes and story-starter packs, with no subscription.

Do you collect any data?

No. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking. Nothing you write leaves the room.

Who is it for?

Teens and adults who enjoy a bit of nonsense together. Players write their own lines, so the fun comes from the group.
