Privacy Policy

Cortex is built by De Studio Barbanson in the Netherlands. Cortex collects no personal data.

What we collect

Nothing. Cortex has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party trackers. Your scores, streaks, settings and any documents you import stay on your device.

Legal basis

Cortex processes no personal data on any server. There is no server: the app is fully offline, so there is no data processing that requires a legal basis under the GDPR.

Storage and backups

Everything is stored locally on your device. If your device backs up to iCloud or your Google account, that backup is controlled entirely by you, under Apple's or Google's terms. We never see it.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by the App Store or Google Play. We never receive your payment details; the store confirms only that the one-time unlock was bought.

Your rights

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing on our side to access, correct or delete. You can remove all local data at any time by deleting the app.

Children

Cortex is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Cortex is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. You are responsible for how you use the app and for keeping your own backups of anything you value. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cortex and De Studio Barbanson are not liable for any loss of or damage to data, nor for any indirect or incidental damages arising from your use of the app. Purchases are made through the App Store or Google Play and are subject to their terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
